After several moves on Thursday, the Cubs have transformed themselves even further into clear frontrunners to win the 2016 World Series.

Since that fateful day in 1908, the Chicago Cubs have run into a myriad of bad luck. Whether it be "The Curse of the Billy Goat" or infamous Steve Bartman, the North Siders have been stopped short of the highest award in baseball more than their fair share of times. Now, in 2016, baseball's "lovable losers" are ready to shed the name. The 2015 season was undoubtedly the best season they've ever had. With stud first baseman, Anthony Rizzo, to NL Rookie of the Year, Kris Bryant and down into the dugout to Manager of the Year in Joe Maddon, the Cubs were poised to bring the Commissioner's Trophy home to the corner of Clark and Addison. Unfortunately, we came up a few games short.

But luckily, the team's entire core is returning. This includes aforementioned Rizzo, Bryant and Maddon along with the blockbuster acquisitions of former Cardinals Jason Heyward and John Lackey. Don't forget we also hauled in World Series champ in middle infielder Ben Zobrist. Like I said, Cubs fans were BEYOND ecstatic with these moves.
Cubs President, Theo Epstein couldn't have done any better. That is, until he did. Fans thought they had lost leadoff man, Dexter Fowler, and the Cubs were still missing a pitcher or two in the bullpen. Thursday fixed all that.
Around noon yesterday, fans found out Coghlan had been shipped off in exchange for righty Aaron Brooks (no, not the Bulls point guard) and a few minutes later that Fowler was still going to play his games at the Friendly Confines.  GET EXCITED, Cubs fans!

Here would be the Cubs projected lineup for opening day in Anaheim:
1. Fowler CF
2. Heyward RF
3. Rizzo 1B
4. Bryant 3B
5. Schwarber DH
6. Zobrist 2B
7. Soler LF
8. Montero C
9. Russell SS
With Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta on the mound?

This lineup is WAY too good. Yes, Mike Trout, I'd be scared too.
LET'S GO CUBS! 2016 IS THE YEAR!
