While I personally prefer Andrew Luck at the position, Wilson’s third round contract hit me a lot less hard. No brainer here.
Running Back: Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers - $4,120,600
Le’Veon was the only player since Walter Payton to have 200+ yards from scrimmage in 3 games straight. Nuff said.
Wide Reciever 1: Terrance Williams, Dallas Cowboys - $2,896,972
This big play maven wil help my team in the deep ball.
Wide Reciever 2: Martavis Bryant, Pittsburgh Steelers - $2,659,220
The 4th round breakout is a good possession addition here.
Wide Reciever 3: Charles Johnson, Minnesota Vikings - $1,350,000
In Johnson, I get first round measurables with a 7th round salary.
Tight End: Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs - $3,126,304
The up-and-coming Kelce was very productive last season with the Chiefs, as I get an over the middle yard eater.
Tackles: Jordan Mills, Chicago Bears - $2,324,800 and La’el Collins, Dallas Cowboys - $1,650,000
I took advantage of 5th rounder Mills’ salary and undrafted La’el Collins’ undrafted one.
Guards: Kyle Long, Chicago Bears - $8,300,000 and Joel Bitonio, Cleveland Browns - $5,460,000
I spent a little on guards, but Long and Bitonio are well worth it.
Center: Travis Frederick, Dallas Cowboys - $6,780,028
Travis Frederick is the best center still on his rookie contract, so I took a hit for this one.
Defensive Tackles: Muhammed Wilkerson, New York Jets - $6,990,000 and Aaron Donald, St. Louis Rams - $10,136,500
I spent a lot of money here, but the Wilkerson-Donald combo was too sick to pass up on.
Defensive Ends: Demarcus Lawrence, Dallas Cowboys - $5,506,648 and Timmy Jernigan, Baltimore Ravens - $4,382,902
These young ends were 2 easy additions, due to their low hit and high productivity.
Middle Linebacker: Bobby Wagner, Seattle Seahawks - $4,307,798
No brainer, as I get a top 3 middle linebacker for this little.
Outside Linebackers: Jamie Collins, New England Patriots - $3,761,002 and Olivier Vernon, Miami Dolphins - $2,848,080
Jamie Collins is great, and Olivier Vernon is an absolute stud. All for 1/20 of the cost of Jay Cutler. Real smart Phil Emery.
Cornerbacks: E.J. Gaines, St. Louis Rams - $2,327,627 and Kyle Fuller $9,687,000
E.J. Gaines is a steal here, and Fuller is great. These guys will seal off the perimeter.
Safeties: Tashaun Gipson, Cleveland Browns - $2,356,000 and George Iloka, Cincinnati Bengals - $2,260,300
Here I get 2 top-15 safeties in Gipson and Iloka. These were easy ones.
OVERALL SALARY: $96,228,555. Four mil to spare and a team of all-pros. Not bad. Overall, what point am I trying to make? Cutler’s deal is HORRIBLE.
